Dear Mothers,
As we enter the month of June, traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I would like to offer you a few words of encouragement and gratitude. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is the furnace of love of the Most Holy Trinity, burning continuously with divine love for each one of us. In His Heart we find mercy, strength, consolation, and every grace necessary for our journey to heaven.
Each time you come before the Blessed Sacrament to pray for your children, grandchildren and families, you become ministers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. United to the love of the Blessed Trinity, you intercede for those entrusted to your care, begging the Lord to protect them and to grant them every spiritual and physical blessing.
Never underestimate the power of your prayer. Whether it is a vocal prayer, a Rosary, a Chaplet, or simply spending quiet time in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord—accompanying Him in the tabernacle or during Eucharistic exposition—your prayers touch the Heart of Jesus and draw down countless graces upon your loved ones.
Take as your model the Blessed Mother. Her Immaculate Heart burns with perfect love for her son. Like Her, may our hearts be kindled with the fire of divine love. Ask her to enkindle the hearts of your children and grandchildren with that same love for our Lord Jesus and to obtain for them the grace of remaining always close to Him in the Holy Eucharist and in the other sacraments. May they be firmly rooted in devotion to the Eucharist and in love for Our Blessed Mother.
As you continue your beautiful ministry of prayer and sacrifice, know that your fidelity is a blessing to your families and the entire Church. The Lord hears every prayer offered with faith and love, even those whose fruits remain hidden for a time.
In the private revelation given to Sister Margaret Alacoque, our Lord Jesus tells her the following:
“I am Jesus, who loves you, Margaret, and I want you to make Me be loved.”
Let us correspond to the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for us and let us love Him with the Love of the Blessed Mother, let us love Him with His own love, and let us entrust ourselves to Him.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus draw each of you ever closer to Himself, fill your homes with His peace, and make you saints.
Leaving you in the furnace of Love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I remain!
With prayers and blessings,
+Fr. Gabriel Barrera.
